Percy Jackson History

Rick Riordan published the first book of the series, Percy Jackson & the Olympians, in 2005. It was supposed to be his personal story written for his son. However, the idea sounded too good to leave it in the closet. Riordan later continued the series with several other follow-ups such as the Last Olympian, the Sea of Monsters, and the Titan’s Curse. In 2010, 20^th Century Fox acquired the rights to produce the movie adaptation of the books.

The company released two PJO films (in 2010 & 2013). The last book of the franchise is believed to be The Tower of Nero. The author has not confirmed any upcoming stories to follow the events up—yet.

Things to Know About the Percy Jackson Quiz if You Are a Newbie

Reading all the five books of the PJO universe might take some time. So, if you are a beginner fan, here are the three important things to know about the quiz on this page.

– A demigod is a half-blood

Percy Jackson, Annabeth, and most of the characters in Camp Half-Blood are demigods. That means their parents are half-mortal, half-god. For instance, Percy’s father is Zeus (Jupiter), the god of thunder. That is while his mother is Sally Jackson. In the PJO series, demigods are in danger—because monsters constantly try to hunt them down. That is why they are transported to a special camp that can protect them.

– The Big Three are Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades

One of the rarest results in the Percy Jackson Quiz is being one of the Big Three’s children. According to Riordan’s books, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades promise each other never to have demigod kids again. And that is why having such a godly parent is quite a rare incident.

– Rick Riordan’s Website Has a Quiz to Reveal Your Godly Parent

You can take the official quiz at ReadRodian.com. It consists of a couple of simple questions about your interests. And the results come with short personality analysis. However, the problem with the test is that it is too short. You almost get no chance to answer deep personality questions to come up with an accurate result. The Percy Jackson quiz on this page is the opposite. It contains twenty in-depth and challenging questions to discover your true parent from Mount Olympus.

4 Ways PJO Series Is Similar to Harry Potter

The franchise has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. So, PJO’s success is undeniable. However, some critics believe that Riordan’s work is very similar to that of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. (And they got the point). Even the author himself talked about the fact that HP Universe has inspired him to create his own. Anyhow, here are the most significant ways the two universes collapse.

Similarity #1: Both Harry and Percy Have Family Issues

Harry was struggling with his abusive stepmom, Dursley, before leaving the house for Hogwarts. The same story is true for PJ. He had lots of issues with his disrespectful, drunken, and toxic stepfather, Gabe Ugliano. However, both characters’ problems ended when they attended a special school—which takes us to the next fact.

Similarity #2: They Both Attend a Special School

For Harry, Hogwarts is where he thrives. But for Percy, it is Camp Half-Blood. Both of the said schools are created for special people. And both are protected with some sort of magic or spell that keeps the bad guys away. (Coincidence? Who knows?)

Similarity #3: Percy and Harry Both Have Two Companions

PJ befriends a girl and a boy, Annabeth and Grover Underwood. The two help him throughout the story and act as his comrades. Does it sound familiar? Well, in the Rowling-created universe, Harry becomes friends with two other students—also a girl and a boy, Ron and Hermione.

Similarity #4: The Claiming Process Resembles the Sorting Ceremony

Another shared featured in the two universes is the way the schools categorize the students. According to J.K. Rowling, the Sorting Hat in the HP Universe decides which house a witch or wizard should attend. In the PJO universe, the godly parent of the student claims his or her child by making a visible sign on their head. The demigod is later taken to a specific cabin with the name of their Deity father or mother.

Are You the Child of the Big Three? This Quiz Can Expose You

The Godly Parent quiz is the most accurate way to find out who your immortal blood belongs to. It is also the only reliable tool to know if you are one of the special demigods or not. The test lets you know if you are a child of the Big Three or not. Such half-gods are rare because the said trio promised each other to stop “hanging out” with mortals.
